Victor Frankl, famed psychologist and Holocaust survivor said that humans “seek pleasure and avoid pain”. There are two lessons we can take from this regarding changing to a more healthy lifestyle:
1. You have to find things you like to eat that fit into the Primal category (see marksdailyapple.com for a list). If you’re hungry all the time or don’t like the food you’re eating you won’t stick to it. If you’re hungry, eat, just make sure you’re eating the right things.
2. We have to make staying the same more uncomfortable than changing. This can be through negative consequences, like donating money to charity for missing target weight loss on a site like stickk.com. Or, it can be positive stuff, like spending more time with someone you love, or having that loved one do something nice for you when you meet your goals. In any case, make staying the same really uncomfortable and you will be motivated to change.
